This insulated 200 lb. capacity Flux Holding Oven is generally located in a storage area or next to the submerged arc welding machine flux hopper, and is used to keep the flux in its dry state or to dry out flux that has picked up moisture.
The reason it is paramount to prevent damp flux leading to moisture within welds is that it can cause hydrogen lock in, and hydrogen bubbles within the weld then expand, and when they do so it forces the weld, causing it to crack.
The Gullco flux oven is complete with lifting lugs, and hinged loading lid, thermometer and a flux heating system which incorporates 1500 watts of low density elements. The temperature is controlled by thermostat ranging from 100° to 550° F. This model is a 110V power supply, 50/60 cycle AC, and weight 155 lbs.
